<p>Nikkei, Japan&rsquo;s leading newspaper specialized in business and economy reported today that over half of listed Japanese companies enjoyed increased profit for the fiscal year ending March 2012.</p>
<p>This mostly attributes to improved profitability by many companies with structural reform even under severe circumstances such as high yen, flood in Thailand and the March 11 Japan Disaster.&nbsp;</p>
<p>As many as 10% of the companies are to mark the greatest profit in the history, when total profit amount has decreased by almost 20% from 2011.&nbsp; Success and failure of corporate strategy separates winners from losers.</p>
<p><strong>1.	Financial statements of which companies have been analyzed?</strong></p>
<p>It is the 242 companies (excluding financial institutes and emerging market) whose financial announcements have been made by May 2.&nbsp; This is equivalent to 15% of all listed companies covering 36% of marketing value.</p>
<p><strong>2.	Which companies are the winners?&nbsp; How many are they?</strong></p>
<p>They are 121 companies, equivalent to 50% of the companies analyzed.&nbsp; With more upcoming financial announcements, as many as 800 companies equivalent to 52% of all listed companies are estimated to improve profit from 2011.&nbsp;</p>
<p>This is far greater than 455 companies (30%) in March 2002 when the IT bubble collapsed and 367 companies (20%) in March 2009 when the economic crisis proliferated worldwide.</p>
<p>Companies in red are only 7%, which is far less than 21% in 2009.</p>
<p>31 companies enjoy greatest profit in their history.&nbsp; With more financial announcements to be made, as many as 153 companies equivalent to 10% of all listed companies are estimated to mark greatest profit in their history.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>3.	Why the winners were successful in improving their profitability?</strong></p>
<p><strong>1)	Competitive businesses and products</strong></p>
<p><strong>(1)	Fanuc</strong></p>
<p>Fanuc, a market leader in factory automation and robots, increased purchase order leveraging their marketing positioning of 20% worldwide market share in robots for automotive and general industry.&nbsp; This led to the greatest profit in their history.</p>
<p><strong>(2)	Komatsu</strong></p>
<p>Komatsu, a leader in construction equipment, expanded their mining machinery business that has been enjoying market share of 40%.&nbsp; This compensated for negative factors such as weak business in China and high yen.</p>
<p><strong>2)	Business development in emerging markets</strong></p>
<p><strong>(1)	Japan Tobacco</strong></p>
<p>Japan Tobacco increased sales in emerging countries including Russia, leading to increase in profit.</p>
<p><strong>(2)	Unicharm</strong></p>
<p>Unicharm, a leader in daily commodities enjoyed strong business of disposable diapers in Indonesia market which already had market share of 50%.&nbsp; The CEO commented, &ldquo;We managed to maintain high profitability by winning growth market.&rdquo;</p>
<p><strong>3)	Structural reform</strong></p>
<p><strong>(1)	All Nippon Airways</strong></p>
<p>With increased competition with Japan Airlines and Low Cost Carriers, All Nippon Airways reviewed their cost structures including aircraft lease fees and personnel cost.&nbsp; This resulted in the greatest profit in history after 6 years.</p>
<p><strong>(2)	Fujitsu General</strong></p>
<p>Fujitsu General transferred their air conditioner production to Asian countries such as Thailand which led to profitability improvement.</p>
<p><strong>4.	Which companies are losers?&nbsp;&nbsp;<br />
</strong><br />
They are mostly the consumer electronics with underperforming TV set business.&nbsp; <br />
Their profits decreased by 18% from March 2011.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Total loss of 7 companies that announced huge loss including Sharp, Nintendo and Kawaski Kien is as much as 710 billion yen.&nbsp; This led to 20% decrease in the total net profit of the companies analyzed.&nbsp; When the losses of the 7 companies are excluded, profit decrease of such companies shrinks to 9%.</p>
<p><strong>5.	What is the outlook for 2013?</strong></p>
<p>Profit of listed companies for fiscal year ending March 2013 is estimated to increase by double digit because the negative effects of the Japan Disaster are to have gone through by then.</p>
<p>Companies with competitive products are assumed to continue enjoy strong business while companies that are suffering with underperforming LCD panel business such as Sharp are assumed to remain in red.</p>
<p>Thus, the disparity of profitability among listed companies is likely to become even more conspicuous.<br />
&nbsp;</p>
<p>Underperformance of Japanese consumer electronics giants such as Sony, Panasonic,&nbsp;NEC and&nbsp;Sharp have&nbsp;attracted media&nbsp;attention but in fact,&nbsp; over 50% of Japanese listed companies have been performing well, improving theirprofitability and many recording greatest profit in their history.&nbsp; This attributes fo effectiveness of corporate strategy.&nbsp;</p>

Effective training starts with a &ldquo;training strategy&rdquo;.  The three stages of a training strategy are:<br />
1.	Identify the skills and abilities needed by employees</p>
<p>2.	Draw up an action plan to show how investment in training and development will help meet business goals and objectives</p>
<p>3.	Implement the plan, monitoring progress and training effectiveness</p>
<p>As the sole purpose of training and development programmes is to build the necessary skills of the employees and to create positive feelings among them. This is how the employees learn many things and develop their personalities while improving organizational competence.  Here are some ways that Training and Development can be initiated for an employee or group of employees to do just that.<br />
1.	Communications: The increasing diversity of today&#8217;s workforce brings a wide variety of languages and customs.<br />
2.	Computer skills: Computer skills are becoming a necessity for conducting administrative and office tasks.<br />
3.	Customer service: Increased competition in today&#8217;s global marketplace makes it critical that employees understand and meet the needs of customers.<br />
4.	Diversity: Diversity training usually includes explanation about how people have different perspectives and views, and includes techniques to value diversity<br />
5.	Ethics: Today&#8217;s society has increasing expectations about corporate social responsibility. Also, today&#8217;s diverse workforce brings a wide variety of values and morals to the workplace.<br />
6.	Human relations: The increased stresses of today&#8217;s workplace can include misunderstandings and conflict. Training can people to get along in the workplace.<br />
7.	Quality initiatives: Initiatives such as Total Quality Management, Quality Circles, benchmarking, etc., require basic training about quality concepts, guidelines and standards for quality, etc.<br />
8.	Safety: Safety training is critical where working with heavy equipment , hazardous chemicals, repetitive activities, etc., but can also be useful with practical advice for avoiding assaults, etc.</p>

Training is encompassing everything that is expected for the enhancement of organizational development and competencies. In order that the total performance may be improved, organizations need to have trained and experienced people or they have to hire a trainer to carry out this task.</p>
<p>Many of them choose the latter as the cost is lower to hire a trainer for a few weeks than employ a full time trainer. Even then you might not be surprised to learn that many businesses do not invest enough in training and some firms don&rsquo;t invest anything in training!  <br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Unless you&rsquo;re teaching others how to use software, there&rsquo;s a good chance you&rsquo;ll need a customized training solution. That&rsquo;s because with something like software, each keystroke has a predetermined result and therefore users need only understand which keys to push and when. Although time-consuming, developing training content of this nature is fairly straightforward.</p>
<p>But the same can&rsquo;t be said about teaching your employees how to run your business the way you want it run. If it was your job to develop effective training content, would you know how to do it? Would you know what not to do? Don&rsquo;t worry. Most people who don&rsquo;t develop training content for a living wouldn&rsquo;t know these answers, either.</p>
<p>Before you start spending money developing training content, there are a few training content &ldquo;pre-development&rdquo; questions that should be answered first such as:</p>
<p>Who is your target audience? <br />
You might at first think this question is better suited to developing marketing materials not training materials, but think again. As with marketing materials, the message your training materials deliver has to resonate with your market which in this case is your trainees. Otherwise it will fall on deaf ears. So now you need to answer these questions:</p>
<p>Who will be using the training materials being developed? For example, will the materials be developed for a particular department or for a particular branch?</p>
<p>How many people will be trained during each training session?</p>
<p>What is the skill level of and what motivates the group to be trained?</p>
<p>With a clear definition of your target &ldquo;trainee&rdquo; it&rsquo;s time to answer another important question:</p>
<p>What are your training goals?<br />
For example, is training required to help meet certain sales quotas? Is training required so that your employees are in compliance with certain regulations? Do you hope that those who complete your training emerge with a new or improved set of skills?</p>
<p>Once you have a firm understanding of who you need to train and why he or she needs to be trained, you&rsquo;ll be better prepared to move on to the next area of consideration, the planning stage.</p>
<p>During this stage you want to get a better idea of when (or how often) such training will take place and where it will take place. Knowing these answers is going to help determine the most effective method of material delivery.</p>
<p>And now, the big question you need to address is:</p>
<p>How can I get my audience from where it is now to where I need it to be within my defined timeframe?<br />
At this stage you&rsquo;ll need to start thinking about a realistic training budget. You need to know how much you can afford to spend on developing as well as implementing a training programme. This answer will significantly impact the development stage.</p>
<p>When it comes to delivering your training content, you have many options. You can develop a &ldquo;hands-on&rdquo; training course that can be used in an interactive classroom-type setting. You can develop an entire training course on video or that can be delivered electronically, both of which allow trainees to learn at an individualized pace. You can develop slide shows, hand-outs, webinars, group or individual activities, and more.</p>
<p>If you plan on developing effective training content you really do need to take all of these issues into consideration.</p>
<p>The Training itself <br />
If participants are attentive and interested, you&rsquo;ve got a better chance of achieving the goals you&rsquo;ve identified for your training programme. If participants aren&rsquo;t tuning in, all you&rsquo;re really doing is wasting time and throwing away learning opportunities.</p>
<p>With some effort your training classes can be more effective.  Here are 5 ways you can improve your skills as a training class facilitator.</p>
<p>Be Prepared<br />
The more prepared you are, the better the chances of holding effective training classes. In fact preparing is crucial to their success. Remember that preparation goes way beyond putting together a syllabus. A syllabus is important for keeping training on track, but for each item, you&rsquo;ve got to show up knowing what you&rsquo;ll talk about. It&rsquo;s rarely possible to be &ldquo;too prepared&rdquo; but if you show up unprepared, participants will always know it.</p>
<p>Be Confident<br />
When you stand before a group you automatically are perceived as the expert. So act that way. The best way to accomplish this is by oozing confidence. Always remember that you need to believe in yourself before you can expect others to believe in you. This is true whether you&rsquo;re facilitating a training class or making a sales pitch or asking someone for a date. If you&rsquo;re confident you can &ldquo;sell&rdquo; anything, even your expertise. One easy way to &ldquo;pull it off&rdquo; as the expert in the room is to follow the advice above &ndash; be prepared.</p>
<p>Be Truthful<br />
Nothing is worse than listening to someone who claims to be an expert stammering over his words, making things up or bending the truth in an effort to appear knowledgeable. People can see through this type of behavior so don&rsquo;t do it. Instead, if you&rsquo;re asked something you don&rsquo;t know, admit you don&rsquo;t know the answer. If possible, suggest where the person might go to find the answer. Or promise to follow-up with the answer and then remember to do so.</p>
<p>Be Approachable<br />
Never come across as being arrogant and never &ldquo;talk down&rdquo; to participants. If you do, you might have a hard time delivering your instruction.</p>
<p>Be In Control<br />
No matter what type of training session you hold, there will be times when you&rsquo;ll encounter the participant who has a comment or a question about everything you say and do. If you let this person take control you&rsquo;ll lose control. When you encounter such a person, politely suggest that the two of you get together after the meeting. Otherwise, the meeting risks running into serious overtime. Plus other participants will definitely lose interest.</p>
<p>But the process doesn&rsquo;t stop there. You&rsquo;ve also got to implement the training program and then evaluate it. Here is where you&rsquo;ll answer what is probably the most important question.</p>
<p>Was the developed training program effective at meeting the goals and objectives outlined previously?</p>

<p>Articles have been known to be the driving force in driving traffic to a website and with a huge number in traffic flow there are more profits and more potential for other income generating schemes as well.</p>
<p>Writing an article doesn&rsquo;t just mean putting down thoughts into words then typing and writing it. You have to capture the interest of your readers and get them to keep on reading. To send your message across you have to get the attention of the reader and have a firm grasp of their interest and pique their curiosity.</p>
<p>Don&rsquo;t Confuse the reason to promote the articles with the reason to write them &#8211; In article writing, there are three key benefits why you are promoting them; branding, lead generation and promotion, which are all part of your optimization efforts.</p>
<p>But there is only one reason why you write an article, and that is to inform your audience. If the article is not focused on this primary and most important purpose, it will fail to achieve the three promotion benefits because no one will be interested in reading them.</p>
<p>An article must always be centred on the keywords and keyword phrases. As each website visitor goes to a site, there are those who are not just merely browsing but actually looking for a specific something. When this happens, a searcher usually goes to a search engine and types in the keywords they are looking for it could be anything they want so mention keywords at strategic places. Just be sure not to overdo them</p>
<p>Start out with a plan and see to it that your article will serve the function that you intended it to have.</p>
<p>Keep a diary or a journal with you always. Ideas can be triggered by anything you may hear, see, or smell. Your senses are your radar in finding great ideas. Write all of them into a journal and keep it with you for future reference. You may also write down anything that you have read or heard, someone&rsquo;s ideas could be used to develop your own ideas and this is not stealing. Remember that ideas and creativity can come from anywhere; it&rsquo;s the development of the idea that makes it unique</p>
<p>Articles must be able to entertain people as well as provide good information and help for their needs. Articles should be written well with correct spelling and good grammar. If you want people to trust you, make your work good and well thought out.</p>
